Magnesia-chrome bricks are refractory products with magnesium oxide (MgO) and chromium trioxide (Cr₂O₃) as the main components, and periclase and spinel as the main mineral components. These magnesia-chrome bricks have high refractoriness, high high-temperature strength, strong resistance to alkaline slag erosion, excellent thermal stability, and also have a certain adaptability to acidic slag. The main raw materials for manufacturing magnesia-chrome bricks are sintered magnesite and chromite. The purity of the magnesite raw material should be as high as possible. The requirements for the chemical composition of chromite are: Cr₂O₃: 30 - 45%, CaO: ≤ 1.0 - 1.5%. Magnesia-chrome bricks are generally produced from sintered magnesite and refractory-grade chromite ore as raw materials, and the refractory grains are bonded by silicates. The magnesia-chrome bricks commonly referred to in China usually refer to the fired common magnesia-chrome bricks, abbreviated as magnesia-chrome bricks.
The refractoriness of magnesia-chrome bricks is greater than 2000 °C, the load softening temperature is generally above 1550 °C, the high-temperature volume stability is good, and the resistance to rapid cooling and heating is stronger than that of magnesia bricks. Refractory bricks can be used as high-temperature building materials and structural materials for building kilns and various thermal equipment, and can withstand various physical and chemical changes and mechanical actions under high temperatures. Nowadays, with the continuous development of China's cement industry, higher requirements have been put forward for refractory materials. The refractory material industry, which has long relied on an extensive economic growth mode, should intensify its adjustment efforts to meet the needs of the new situation.
In China's cement industry refractory material industry, there are problems such as low industry concentration, cutthroat competition, and shortage of raw material resources. Only by accelerating the reorganization and inte
